Ed Hall writes foxhunting songs with a purely America country flavor. So how did he come to write a song about St. Hubert, I wondered.
“I was a lifelong hunter—quail and duck primarily—but was never aware of St. Hubert until I started foxhunting,” says Hall, “so I decided he should be the story line in one of my songs. I remember a wild coyote run one time when I remarked to the Field Master, ‘I hope St. Hubert is on the job right now!’”
