The Why Worry Hounds and MFHs George and Jeannie Thomas made bold statements at the Carolinas Hound Show on May 15, winning Championships in the Crossbred and English rings and going home with the Grand Champion Foxhound of the Show.
Why Worry Arpege 2008 was judged Champion Crossbred Foxhound, and Why Worry Braveheart 2009 was Champion English Foxhound.
American Foxhound Champion was Keswick Tally 2006, and the Champion Penn-Marydel foxhound was Moore County Riddelen 2006. The four breed champions met in the final class, and Why Worry Braveheart emerged Grand Champion. Braveheart is by Why Worry Grantham 2006 ex Duke of Beaufort’s Bracelet 2004.
To cap it off, Why Worry huntsman George Thomas, MFH won the Huntsman’s Trophy.
Judges were Duck Martin, MFH in the American and English rings; Liz McKnight, MFH in the Crossbred ring; and Frank MacArthur in the Penn-Marydel ring. Jerry Miller, MFH judged the Grand Champion class, as well as the Junior Handlers, and Miller teamed with MacArthur in judging the Pack Classes.
Keswick huntsman Tony Gammell won the horn blowing contest at festivities under the stars the previous evening.
