Woods Winants drove home three of her winners: Fogcutter in the Amateur/Novice Rider Hurdle, Coturnix in the Maiden Hurdle, and Rutledge Classic in the Foxhunter Timber Race.
Smithwick’s other win came with Dr. Alex, owned and ridden by Teddy Zimmerman, in the Amateur Highweight Timber Race. This was the second win for Zimmerman and Dr. Alex in this year’s series, their previous victory coming at the Piedmont Point-to-Point.

Mary Motion on Swimming River finished second to Swope in both races.
Another young rider, Sam Frederickson, came home first in the Novice Rider Flat Race on Kinross Farm’s It’s a School Night, trained by Neil Morris.
Diane Gillam won two races on the day, beating a field of six on Vladykov in the Virginia Bred/Sired Flat Race and on Regal Hour in the Lady Rider Timber Race.

Keri Brion won her first race over fences aboard Randleston Farm’s superb timber horse, Spy In The Sky, trained by Jimmy Day.
