These can be made ahead and warmed, can stay warmed for hours, and can be refrigerated after cooking and served warm the next days or so. Even well received at room temperature.
My party guests would mutiny if I did not serve them. My five year old grandson helps me make them.
Ingredients:
Soft White Bread (i.e. Wonderbread, Butternut….regular not thin sliced)
Thin Cheap Bacon
Original Philadelphia cream cheese (rectangle)
Cut slices of bread into quarters. Leave crusts on.
Cut bacon in half lengths…therefore each piece approximately 4-5 inches long. Put cream cheese on quarter of bread (amount equivalent to 3/4 pat of butter). It doesn’t matter if you use too much as extra will squirt out the ends.
Fold bread in half, wrap bacon around, put on cookie sheet seam side down, bake @ 350 degrees for about a half hour (until the bacon is cooked). Drain on paper towel and serve.
